Sat Nav relative volume

Okay so I like my music loud but even when I have a CD playing quietly in the background the volume from the Sat Nav is deafening. The only way seems to be to turn off the CD and turn down the sound or have I missed something? Is there anyway to hush the electronic passenger relative to the CD and radio or should I revert back to the Tom Tom?

I'm pretty sure that, when the satnav voice guidance is on, look at the audio display and it will tell you how much ( + ) the voice is above the CD/radio volume, so turning it down at that point will reduce the voice guidance volume
Hope that makes sense

If you hold down the Tone button (music note icon ISTR) for a few seconds you enter the world of "More Settings Land"

Here you can set the default offsets for AVC (auto volume increase based on environmental noise)... the voice recognition alert volume, the traffic INFO volume, the Phone volume, and best of all... the Sat Nat voice guidance volume and some other stuff.

These are offsets based on the current volume setting... ie if your stereo is set to 15 and the offset to +3, in theory the Phone, Sat Nav, INFo etc volume will be at 18.

TBH the AVC makes little difference as the D3 is so quiet.

Not got sat nav so no idea if the setting makes much difference at all.

The nav volume offset on mine only goes up - ie. +1 +2 etc.
Most people want it to go down (minus) to make it a bearable intrusion to music or radio. Any idea how to do this?

I can adjust it down when it's talking but it just comes back at the default volume for the next time (minimum = +1).

Confused

My Sat Nav volume resets to a deafening tone each time I use navigation. I have to go into the additional settings to reset it to a lower volume. I have an '05, maybe they've updated the software since.
