You are right. But we are not looking for a menu but for a softkey that enables an option. I will se if I can get a pic

nope, just went outside and tried. It only does tone but not volume. Thanks for trying.

Anybody else with a MY10 D4?

I don't use my OEM satnav now because the traffic update is just pints but when I did I coped with the volume problem by turning the voice guidance off in the satnav settings and just pressing the speaker icon when I needed guidance - this then gives you the last instruction - over-riding the mute setting temporarily. Thanks for advice, seems like the only fix is to turn off the volume Banging Head

Yep - after 8 years of disco ownership, I've got used to not being able to use the Nav voice!

Such a basic programming error it's shocking. Evil or Very Mad

Couldn´t believe it´s not working so I just went on a quick test drive.
With the source memory option enabled I turned on the radio and adjusted the volume to quite a high level. Then I told the Nav (via voice command) to zoom in on the map and the response was not near as loud as the radio. To put it even further I requested the same again. This time I turned the volume of the response (while given) even further down with the volume knob on the facia. I repeated the same command again while I was listenig to a very loud radio and the response was so low this time I could hardly hear it.
I have really tried a lot because I could not believe this car had such a design flaw. But after enabling the source memory it worked. So for me this is just another documentation issue with the handbook (...among other things...)
So I can definitaly confirm that this works. At least in my car.

Just thinking if you do it by voice command than that is voice and not the Nav volume.

Next time you are on the motorway try it but push the audio button on the LCD screen.

..hmm...yes that may be. but still this is another sound source at a different volume level, be it voice or nav, should be the same. will try the nav soon.

viethson, yours must be the only one then!

I also use source memory 'on' and can turn the volume of the NAV down while it's talking. The problem is this volume isn't remembered for the next NAV instruction. In fact, there is no memory in a MY11 for the volume of different sources, only tone and balance settings.

I'll try the source memory on the next journey at speed but I think crews control is right!

i tried it again today and works fine for me. Although I have to admit that when pressing the command repeat softkey in the nav screen it's loud again. With voice commands it works fine.
I will do a longer trip soon then I can say for sure if it works.
