Saving audio settings?

I have a USB key with most of my music on it and generally set it to "Random All" so I can listen to a mix of music on my travels.

However, every time I start the car and then the USB audio I have to go to the settings and reselect "Random All". Anyone know how this setting can be saved or made the default setting?

I think my head unit is the standard D4 one.

I have mine set to 'shuffle' and it retains that setting everytime I start the car, so I would have thought that it would retain 'random all' ?

Nope, resets every time, so it always starts by playing the same track.

what does it play second ? 'putters don't really do "random" so it may generate a new "random order" each time you tell it to, but it could then retail that "random sequence" until told to make another one.

It sets back to sequential playing tracks based on alphabetic order of the groups and then the album. Pretty much as copied from the windows media music directory at startup.

now THAT is annoying …. why on earth does it do alphabetical order ?????? ruins Pink Floyd The Wall Big Cry

and I hate having "01 … 02" etc. as part of the track names.

All details for the tracks are there if accessible at the time they were ripped. Just requires me to reset the Random All every time I get back in the car...a right pain in the proverbial!
