That's the Road Trip app, free for one car and pretty cheap for multiple cars.

I suppose if we buy a LR we have to expect it to be poor on fuel. We are after all, driving vehicles with the aerodynamics of a brick and weighing 2 tons!!
As DSL says it Road Trip Lite (free).
Admittedly I have done everything possible to improve mpg short of Driving Miss Daisy but I have been happy with a real-world 28.2 mpg running average. My Disco 3 does a combination of town/city driving and fast A roads every day plus some short journeys. On a longer run I have no problem getting a genuine 32 mpg but I think the average is more important as it is that that empties the wallet.
My wife's last Suzuki Swift had a claimed mpg that would embarrass any Discovery driver but in real world conditions it showed 42 mpg average on the display but achieved only 37 when used in my daily real-world average according to the iPhone app. Against this the Discovery does not look too bad.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Here's mine, all fill ups over 99k miles. You don't run these to save da planet.

Now this is a bit less painful on the wallet department.

Here's my mpg figures from the app I use for my MY2012 D4, this is calculated from brimming the tank each time. Admittedly a lot of my driving is short runs and quite a bit off road driving

When you say "brimming the tank", do you mean fill until the auto stop comes on on the pump nozzle or keep filling passed that until it literally wont take any more?
Hairy Dan, what's that app? Is it the same as DSL's

When I brim the tank I literally brim it right up to the top so that you can see the diesel in the filler tube. The app I use is called Fuel Log but it is for Android Cheers Ian

Doesn't really matter whether you brim the tank (squeeze is all you can) or stop at the second click off, as long as you are consistant if looking at one fill. Over a reasonable number of miles it all gets evened out in the wash. With the road trip app you can do part fills but won't calculate the mpg til the next completed fill, useful if just taking on enough before te mucho cheap French juice.

DG - Yes I reset the computer.
My Disco is new and this inconsistent data is only based on the fill up made by the dealer (garage as we use to say) while I was standing beside him (and heard the pump go click) and two others that I have done. This gives me two periods fill to fill. I thought the first time it was an error but the second fill confirmed the 17%. I'll advise the dealer.
Don't want to highjack the thread and talk just about mpg so differences with D4.........
Flappy paddles - I use them a lot down hill to provide engine braking and I use sport mode for overtaking but I'm new to automatics. (Perhaps I should use manual for overtaking too but am not use to the small rev range of a deisel compared with a petrol and fear I would be stressing a new engine by revving too high)
I would greatly miss the reversing camera - it's brilliant but I couldn't justify the cost of cameras all round so didn't spec it. I suppose it's good for getting out at junctions where there are high hedges or parked vans. On Top Gear they seem to used it for looking at women in short skirts. Perhaps I'm missing out!

Rixy, mine was averaging 22-24mpg on the lieometer until I'd got some miles on it, ie over 2000, and then it has risen marginally to an average of around 27mpg mainly town driving with the odd dual carriageway/motorway journey.
It obviously frees up and isn't as tight and returns better mpg as other cars do with age and miles.
The lag from standstill is still there and annoys the **** out of me most days !! Even after 7 months and several thousand miles it aint no better. As soon as a suitable remap is available or LR sort the software out, I'll be in the que !!

Third fill-up. Car has done 1000 miles. Computer is still showing a better mpg by 16%. (28mpg instead of a measured 24). Dealer says there is no adjustment available.
Overtaking a couple of slower vehicles the other day nearly got caught out on the wrong side of the road due to the delay in the response to my right foot, and this was in Sport mode. (Yorkshire is a long way from Poole!)
