I'm having daily issues with the kids seatbelts locking when that are trying to put them on (12my D4 XS) Looked around the forum and this doesn't seem to be a particularly common issue. Has anyone else experienced this and if so are there any fixes available? It's driving me crazy having to get out of the car every day and spend 5 minutes pulling on them like a church bell to free them up whilst the kids play merry hell. I'm starting to wonder if it been in a crash.....

If it won’t unreel are you parking on a slope?
Edit you say “seatbelts” how many are you having trouble with?

It's an unreeling issue and happens when parked on the flat. It does do it eventually but takes lots of attempts.

Take off the trim and see has anything been accidentally wound back into the mechanics. But if there isn’t anything obvious that sorts it I’d change out the unit, it’s a safety belt in daily use holding your kids in place, it needs to be working 100%

Ok thanks. It was probably inevitable that I would be taking it apart I guess. As you say though you can't compromise on your kids safety. Thanks.

There is a feature in the rear belts (on the RRS at least and thus likely the Disco) that allows them to function as you described. It's to allow for bulky items to be secured on the back seat. You set it by fully extending the belt and you reset it by doing the same. Try that - pull the belt fully out and then let it reel back in. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
