Securing Engel MT45 ?
Hi People
I know this may sound stupid but I've got a 45 engel in the nearside of the boot but it's not tied down in any way.
Simple question is what is the best way of fixing it with minimal damage to the interior.TDV6 HSE - Light Guards - White Reflective Sticker

Fillit with beer then it will be too heavy to go anywhere
but if that doesnt do it, i use a tie down strap and secure it to the two tie down eyes in the boot, or you can buy the Engel kit and screw it to the back of the third row seatsDuncan

If I'd known I was going to be so thirsty this morning I'd have drunk more beer last night.

Pass a ratchet strap lengthways under the folded rear seat, up & round the engel handle, back down & do the same at the other end, through the ratchet & bobs your uncle.

Thanks Guys
I think I prefer Duncans suggestion but the tie downs would stop it falling over once all the beers been devoured..

If you wanted to go all out, you could source one of the sliding floor units for the back of your disco (seen plenty passing through this site) and fix a transit slide lok to it thus allowing you easy access to the contents and saves you drilling holes in your car floor.
engelfridges.co.uk have the slide lok etcA happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

Hi Tanters,
Can you explain how the sliding floor unit is held in place in the D3?
Thanks,

Hi Peter
I havent one installed but I believe the two rails that the floor slides in/ out on are secured using the bolt points where the tie-downs are at present.

Hi Tanters,
Thanks for your reply.
I must admit, that was how I mounted my slide. I was just wondering if there was a better solution.

Has anyone drilled the said holes for the Engel slide lock base, and do they do much damage to the seat back/floor? Or would it be much easier to go with the ratchet strap method described by DaveT?
Engel MT45 on order.

Got mine bolted to the cargo floor, advantage of having taken rear seats out:

Remove 2nd row seat(s) Fit a wooden floor, anchor wooden floor to the seat fixing points and the screen the slide lock plate to the wooden floor.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Thanks for the PM, I've looked at these kits before but have always been wary of drilling holes into the back of the rear seat..
Don't suppose you'd notice it too much with the carpet on it.
Engels getting filled up tomorrow for a 3 day camping trip. (not much room for the food as the beer takes up most of the space)
Thanks again MrHTDV6 HSE - Light Guards - White Reflective Sticker

OK, so my plan is to have a piece of wood cut for the car and fix the Engel to that. Cheers.
