Been to see a 56 reg disco 3.

Well ive been to see my first d3 and have questions,

Walking up to the car it was completely sunk right down low.

Car turned over no proboems and no warnings came up. Is it normal for the car to be completely sunk??

Also there was lots of service history but no record of an oil pump change. Car had 122k on the clock.

I asked about the oil pump change and they looked confused.

Also thee was some bubbling on tue door window seal, almost as it there was rust underneath. Is this common??

I walked away with a big question mark above my head.... seems like a duff to me.

Opinions?

Depending on how long the car has been sat it may well sink. As long as it raises ok and doesnt throw up any warning lights then nothing to be concerned about. The bubbling along the outer window trim is quite normal. Mine are like it. You can get a replacement set of all four for about £120.

He said it had been sat for 3 months... Not sure how true this is? But to be fair it did raise straight away and didn't have any issues getting to desired level.
Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Interior was in nice shape too but I'm concerned over the lack of oil pump change.

The oil pump was more vital from 07 onwards.

Didn’t some late 56 plate have the bad oil pump? But either way, if it was me buying it at that mileage, I’d be booking it straight in to have it swapped for the newer model anyway.

Also, why was it sat for 3 month? That would put me off a little..

It's common for cars of this age to sink when parked, but they didn't leave the factory doing this.

Usually £15 of seals sort it + labour/DIY.

most people don't know about the oil pump

I was just going off of what generally has been said on here regarding the oil pumps and it seems to be more of an issue from 07 onwards. But I bow to your superior knowledge Geoff Thumbs Up

Correct. EU3 models are also beginning to snap oil pumps now...
