also £495 for a major service seems quite reasonable given that indy are coming in about £450

im going round to my local LR Dealer near work in Doncaster today anyway so ill ask them what they will charge

Should be the same, as it's LR's fixed price scheme - but best check anyway. Wink
If you can report back and see what they say
Also with price for other belt [if not already included] & oil pump.

Thumbs Up

Don't need mine doing yet, just thinking ahead on next service [May20] and beyond.

i would probably get a better quality service at my local trusted indy (they will even strip brakes down and check properly) but to get booked into them is a pain and a bigger pain to actually get the car to them on the day.
LR dealer here is only about 10 mins drive and will give me a courtesy car too (hopefully)

ill check and report back

I personally wouldn't take mine to a main dealer outside of the service pack. They are less than useless. I would find a decent independent. I have 2 left before I can actually get some service.

its more a convenience issue for me. i work 40 miles from home, i wouldnt touch my local LR dealer with an insulated barge pole, but the Doncaster LR dealer is close by work so much easier to drop off and collect and ive used them before several times for previous warranty issues and they were excellent.

Ill always try and haggle their prices down anyway if possible. Thumbs Up

I just got quoted 1900€ for the belt change service by our local dealer. We don't have qualified LR indy's over here so it's take it or leave it type of situation...

That seems seriously cheap for the 7yr service ?? Even independents can be more than that round here.
I’ve seen fixed price servicing quotes from the LR website but have never been given those. Wonder if local dealers just ignore that?

Did the price include the rest of the service though, or are they just the costs to change the belts? To me reading those costs, you need to add both together to get the full price of the 7 year service.

As per LR fixed price scheme its definitely £495 for a major B service and £695 for both belts to be changed.
That obviously doesnt include any extra stuff like brake fluid change, flexi brake hoses etc etc that are extra to service costs.

Where in Finland are you at? I’m pretty sure one could make the math work so that one would drive down to Helsinki area and take it to one of the indies here? While I don’t have the need to change the cam belt (V8 has chains), the monthly letters I get from autojerry state their average quote for that job is less than 1k....

Just a thought. Thumbs Up

Forgot to add that when I initially asked for service prices at the desk she quoted the full prices.. £700 for the service!

It was only when I mentioned the lower prices that she got flustered and agreed, and then only after consulting with the service manager sat behind her..

I've had this before with FL2 that I've taken for the 3+/fixed price services.... the desk staff always quote the full price, deny all knowledge and then panic and agree.
