Servo vacumn failure ?

Hmmm.....this could be a real "female dog" to fix and I´d appreciate any insight or thoughts anyone might have

2 year old HSE with 22K km, and like zero problems till now....4 times in the last couple of months the servo asistance of the brakes whilst parking dissapeared....the brakes still work but you have to push real hard on the pedal....first time it happened to SHMBO she was not impressed.
Pumping the brake pedal did not help, then like 30sec later all fine!
Brake fluid level ok, no hissing/sucking noises....

Any way car is in the Dealer, and whilst I think they believe me it does not look easy to find an intermittent problem like this.

Talking to the cheif engineer at the dealer he explained that apart from the standard servo system there is also a pump?.....can anyone give some more info on this...

Oh and I´m fluent in how to use use the EPB now Confused

Cheers John from Sunny Spain

thanks for the reply Woody,

Yep read through the post and could well be...we shall see what happens at the dealer

Still would like to know what the "pump" in the brake servo system is for?

JuanT,
If you have a diesel engined D3, there should be a vacumn pump
to assist the braking system.
Where as with petrol engines, the vacumn pipe would be connected to
the inlet manifold.
 D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

So this is a follow up to my brake problem....like... braking with no servo....
sorry for the update but have been away and I don´t follow forums closely

anyway
Several months ago I got the dealer to change most of the "engine to brake-master" side, not everthing! as I reckoned the hydraulics where ok...as you could stop...but needed really big leg muscles!!!!

Since then zero problems...

and blow me down a few week ago I got an letter indicating that I should take my Disco to a dealer for potentia brake problems...etc. etc...

so problem fixed...what it was no idea...but thanks to the hep from my dealer ... all good

cheers
