Are these a good buy? What do you think? Have heard that there are lots of fakes about of these wheels.
Cheers,

price is about average, but it doesnt say whether they are genuine or not, and doesnt say what the tyre spec is, so most likely to be RRS (so 103 or 106, 275/40x20's), so not relly correct for D3. He also says will fit a freelander which they wont, but heyho, he's trying to sell.
If there's a way of you asking:
1) Are they genuine, not copies
2) ask for the weight rating (cast into the back of one of the spokes, along with the offset, usually 53),
3) the tyre size and spec,
then they might be worth a go. Not all copies are bad, as some have a higher weight rating than the LR genuine ones.
Ideally you are looking for weight rating of at least 900kg (which is what Genuine are), with tyres ate 275/45x20, most likey rated at 110.

Prospective purchaser should also ask about the nut seating ie is it tapered or flat.
Devonchillimans had to have a set of nuts with a flat seating for the stormers he just had fitted.
Thankfully he was able to get them ordered and delivered within 24 hrs when he was up at Prospeed specifically for the wheel fitting.
My stormers however take the standard D4 nuts with taper fitting.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Thanks for your input @al cope & ronp
Think I might ring the bloke
Appreciate your input, the load rating for the wheels is the same as my van VW T5 transporter
I know lots of people that run land rover wheels on there transporters, will the 17s that these might replace fit on my van......... Hmmmmmmn! Food for thought.
Thanks again,
Kev.

Hi Ron
My standard D3 wheel nuts are both tapered and flat - they have a tapered bottom (end), so that you can fit the steel skinny spare, and a flat face with washer futher up the sleeve for fitting the alloys. I've not seen any that are different to that.
Like this:

Thats a D1 nut, but my D3 nuts are the same style
Are D4 wheelnuts not the same?

D3 & D4 nuts are the same and in the words of Michael Jackson "makes no difference if your black or white or Landmark"
[I added that last bit]
Never had any issue with my nuts both on the D3 or D4 with any wheel type that I fitted.
But as mentioned when Devonchilliman went to have his stormers fitted at Prospeed, they couldn't use the D4 nuts as they had the tapered seating [per pic above] but the seating on the wheel was flat - hence needing flat nuts.
I personally didn't see them but did chat with Ollie [Prospeed] about this.
Now if anyone knows what they're doing ...... Prospeed certainly do.

Sorry Al, just re-read and see what you mean.
I'm seeing Prospeed later this week and will ask so I have better understanding.
But it does remain that whatever seating was on Cliff's stormers, they did need different nuts to the LR oem ones.

Hi Ron
All of the alloys I've had on mine (and yes, there's been a few, 18's, 19's and a number of different 20's, both OEM and non OEM), have had a flat seat, and all have used the standard flat washered wheelnut.
In the last week I've had two sets of 20's (Genuine LR Red Edition and Non OEM Stormers, and a set of D3 HSE 19's) on and off the car whilst getting ny Stormers refurbed, and swapping tyres sround, and they've all used the same D3 wheelnut.
It sounds more like somebody took a look at the wheelnuts, saw the tapered base, and thought they were the wrong nuts, or Cliffs Stormers arent OEM, and have either a different sleeve/base (ala pre 07 RR 19"& 20" alloys)
Not sure we should be discussing Cliff's nuts in public

Ahhh - I see - both you and I have run non OEM stormers with standard wheelnuts. I wonder if Cliffs were intened for a pre 07 L322 or a VW Transporter, so needed the smaller diameter sleeve nuts.

Yep LR322, so must've been the diameter.
