shooting with a D4
so i took my D4 out last night for a tour around a farm i have permission over.
my last shooting truck was a nissan pathfinder. The D4 is a definite improvement, much smoother over the rough stuff. not having to change gear was a blessing as was the roomier cabin with larger windows for pointing rifles out of.
i couldn't work out if the DRLs can be switched off so i put on the sidelights which are quite dim.
made a jetboil stop on the rear tailgate half way round which was very pleasant.
really pleased with it!

Make sure the vehicle's ignition is switched off, and the lighting switch is in the Off position (1).
Switch the vehicle's ignition on.
Turn the lighting switch to the Low beam headlamps on position (3).
Turn the lighting switch back to the Off position (1).
Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch for more than 2 seconds.
Release the rear fog lamp switch.
Turn the lighting switch to the Low beam headlamps on position (3).
Turn the lighting switch back to the Off position (1).
Turn the vehicle's ignition off.
Repeat the above to turn them back on again.

Mandatory for the car manufacturer to include them on the car or mandatory for the driver to use them?

A very definitive statement in such a grey area.
We had the old dip beam excuse until proved illegal by EU.
Fitment of DRl's was an Eu directive, but each country has variances in its implementation and use, and I am unaware thet any UK law has been passed as to what the implementation is, it is still not requirement in the MOT test either that DRL's are tested.
