Sidelights : Finally found a match for the Xenons
After alot of testing different bulbs, I couldnt find a decent match up for the Xenons, however I spotted these LED Bulbs posted on another forum and thought I'd try them on the disco 8) Whooo they are a great match for the headlights, they are a bright white colour and go perfect with the Xenons, much better than those awful yellow tinted bulbs
I'm not sure on the rules regarding posting a link to where I got them so if someone can enlighten me I'll gladly point other members of the forum on the rite path
I have something similar, but was informed that they are "gay sidelights".
I wear them with pride I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I was reading in this months LRO that it is in fact illegal to fit non filament bulbs to vehicles who's lights are type approved for filament bulbs, if they are made after a certain date (can't remember the date, will look it up)
It means that technically your car could fail its mot, or your insurance might be affected if you fit led bulbs to a D3.
I could however fit them to my 1966 Series 2a, and it would be perfectly legal.
I did have LED tail bulbs in my last D3, and it did not fail the mot, so maybe its not rigidly enforced.

I did wonder about the legality of the bulbs initally as I thought they would be too "blue" but TBH they are no different to that which is fitted in the new Audi headlights the R8 for example which has the LED bulbs fitted as standard on the headlights... could be seen as a bit of a grey area

That's right, but Audi will have gained type approval for their lights with the LEDS fitted.
I would imagine it would be illegal to replace the bulbs on the Audi with filament bulbs. Its the insurance aspect that would worry me. Give them any excuse to get out of a claim and they probably will try.

Where did they come from, you can post the link as long as you don't make money out of it.
