As a long time ex-pat, I was beginning to think that I didn't understand the lingo any more. "Bling" was one word that isn't in my vocabulary. But now my education has been improved - thanks

Ok have the first prototypes and production is under way.
The fronts are same size as RRS and the rears longer to suit D3 opening.
Finish is polished ss with 'DISCOVERY' in same font as RRSport.
Cost is exactly the same as RRS at £75 a set of four plus £5 postage in UK. Usually next day delivery.
I still have chance to make it 'DISCOVERY 3' if overall concesus says so.
Please note it is not possible to please everyone
Interestingly the demo D3 I have is black with 834 miles on clock and sills are already scratched very badly.
If a set of plates were fitted at the start then even if they were scratched , they could be removed before later resale and leave perfect paintwork.
Alternatively, to sell a S/h D3 with scratched sills, fit new set of ss plates, instant good looks.

I've edited the above post as I wasn't happy with the mountain logo and I believe LR have dropped it anyway in connection with D3.
In reply to requests for dull plates/polished letters. The etching process produces very slight tone variations which are completely unoticeable in just the letters. However, if the whole plate was etched then the variation in tone would stand out and not produce a quality product.
I'm very fussy about such things, just as you guys are and I wouldn't be happy with the final result.
These plates are of very high quality as can be testified by the RRSguys who have bought them.
It's not my main line of business but is now occupying quite a bit of time.

Malcolm,
Yes, very easy fixing.
It's thin, very strong automotive grade double sided tape. When you get them it is already fitted to the plates and a paper protective cover on the tape.
Check the fit, clean sill and remove sill plate tape and fix carefully in place.

Hmmmm, I've just had what appears to be an Ebay fraud email offering to buy 5 'items'.
Named as Kristy Hyatt best_buy1971 (52) Feedback 100% Member since Oct 22nd 04.
I did a profile search and Ebay has no-one under that name or ID.
Most odd.

Malcolm,
I will be posting them on Ebay with PayPal purchasing as soon as they are ready. Perhaps towards end of this week, early next. I will post the link.
You can register with PayPal with no charges and use a credit card, it's quite easy.
After experiences before, this is the best way to ensure we are all satisfied.
