so simple I missed it to start with.

Been having a problem with my disco 3 2.7. Set of and 100 metres later lights on dash come on yellow, "system fault Special systems disabled, suspension lowering" on the info screen! This was happening every time I went out to move the car. Was looking at everything I could think of and waiting to get a big bill if it needed fixing. After a final look this morning I noticed the level in the brake fluid reservoir was down around a quarter of an inch so I thought I would top it up as it would do no harm. I started it up and set of around the block expectiong the usual but nothing, no lights no messages no suspension lowering so went out and did a 50 mile tour around without any problem! Needless to say I an a very happy bunny at the moment.
The moral of this is check the simple things first, Something my Dad used to tell me and this time I forgot to do.
Stay safe everyone
Martin

Make sure you brake pipes at the rear aren’t leaking if it drops again

If your brake fluid level was that low, you really need to find out why. Brake fluid is not a consumable like engine oil. Certainly check for leaks ASAP, brake pads may be due for replacement.

May not be a leak mate , check how far down your brake pads are worn as they wear the piston is out further thus lowering the level slightly, you say quarter inch , could be about right .
Just my opinion

Never ever ever top up brake fluid between brake work/services, as next set of pads means fluid split all over the place!

Did you use the correct fluid?
