Sluggish cranking

The last few mornings the old Disco has sounded a little sluggish after the initial turn of the key
I have a new battery 10 month old
new alternator Denso last summer
so I am hoping that its a lack of use and a lot stop starts etc
I am sure that some one said that it take a long time for an alternator to fully charge a battery
