Sluggish to pull off + DTC Codes

My D3 is feeling a bit sluggish of late, and even to a point tonight coming home from work where someone nearly ran in the side of me when O tried to pull off before them, but couldn't get away from the junction quick enough

The car doesn't move and then all of as sussend its like a rocket and shoots off once up the revs a bit

I spoke to Pete at BAS to see what he thought and whether it may be the map, but he doesn't think so and suggest putting the original map back on if only for peace of mind to rule that out

He did however ask if I'd had any EGR problems or checked for DTC codes

At my last services, I was told that my EGR(s) are on there way out and to get them replaced, even though I couldn't actual feel any symptoms; should I have?

Rather than replacing them, I bought the car home and purchased/fitted one of Pete's blanking kits, thus also removing the spindles, etc... as per the instructions

I've checked for fault codes, and its displaying the folling in this order:

P0405
P1335
P0404
P140A

Does anyone know what these are/mean? As I cant see them on the website I've looked at

Any help would be greatly appreciated in tying to sort my problem Thumbs Up

Thanks

Ade

Looks like you have felt the symptoms of your EGR valves. Whistle

So even though the EGR blanks are fitted you still feel the symptoms of faulty valves?

So does that mean that the blanks don't actually fix the fault?

Thanks

IF you have fitted the blanks, then there shouldnt be a lack of power anymore, but the faults will still be there...

Don't forget the original set of codes will remain in the powertrain ECU until they are cleared, so you could still be looking at the old codes. And like Disco_Mikey says, certain EGR valve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTS's) will still occur but be irrelevant because the EGR system has been blanked AFTER the faulty EGR valves.

So as asked, is the engine still gutless at the bottom end?

Ade,

I'm in pretty much the same situation as you - intermittant (almost) total loss of pull-away power, then it hits you at about 2000 RPM, I've fitted Pete's blanking kit, and although the problem now occurs less, it does still happen. Pete suggested reverting back to the original map - but that means no fun !

Does yours dump out a load of black smoke when you get the lack of pull-away power ? - mine does.

I'm wondering if it's the MAF sensor, or maybe an intercooler hose starting to give up, but finding a decent, reliable diagnostic person local to me is not proving easy.

Not been offroad - well, not in the mud in the D3, that's what the Deafener is for !

Could be a failing intercooler hose............but I guess there's no easy way to check ?

CFT - I really hope not, I really really really don't need that sort of expense right now.
