Have fun. Thumbs Up My days of rushing out to beat the ploughs (and snow blower over Dave Moor) are finished, I'm looking after this car a little better. Whistle

Dava road a few years ago before said ploughs got going. Whistle

It's pitiful isn't it - first sign of snow and the country (south of about Yorkshire) grinds to a halt...

Sad thing is, see East Anglia on your map, the island of green amidst the brown - that's us Sad Selfish I know but we have plenty of cross-country skis that I'd love to be able to use at home for once Smile

Seems like an Eastly wind is on the way as from around Thursday next week, 22nd Feb, with temps dropping to freezing but windchill will make it feel much lower. Then from next Sunday Southern Uk in particular, and for a change, forecast to get snow and plenty of it. Could be some epic snow fall as well and , if so, expect plenty of travel disruption. Should be interesting to hear the Countryfile forecast for the coming week but it’s from the 25th onwards that the fun really starts.

Well done on your predictions Bow down

Can you keep us informed all the time with the weather Question much better than the TV Laughing

Pretty obvious the very cold temps will continue today with snow for Eastern Scotland and the North East and down to the Midlands. Winds will cause some drifting and hazardous conditions so expect major disruption to travel in these areas in particular. Ja92mie could get his wish tomorrow midday (Thursday) onwards but maybe not Newquay. Increasing snow coming up from the South for the West Country with blizzard like conditions spreading up into Wales. Eastern areas not really affected by this storm which the Portuguese weather service have called Emma. So if you live on or near Datmoor I’m afraid Emma is going to kick your butt😂
For Eastern Uk i.e. East Anglia down to Kent/Dorset there are weather warnings issued but I think today will be more snow flurries than continued heavy snow but I don’t feel 100% confident with this.
With the easterly winds persisting snow could pop up anywhere but it will remain bitterly cold to at least Sunday when milder air is expected to arrive, or try to, from the South West.
Whatever happens drive safely.

Excellent...

I have a strange vision of Terryall, licking a strand of seaweed whilst looking into a mug of tea leaves, standing on one leg and only wearing one sock whilst making his divine forecasts....please tell me it’s true! Very Happy

The D2 just stated on the button, no pre-heat - not something I normally do, only when it's really cold, just to see if it will! It's not the smoothest, cleanest or most powerful but the Td5 is a real workhorse (so long as you keep that wiring loom happy).
