Soft A-Bar

Until VA and I saw the original equipment supplier at the Motorshow, and having just seen a news item on Midlands Today, I never realised that the soft A-bar is a very flexible pedestriain 'friendly' item Shocked

Why aren't LR pushing this feature and technology more visibly?

I had one but flicked it for the ARB jobbie.

Other than a shopping trolley rolling into it, i don't think that it could've taken much of a hit.

(Plus you couldn't hang stuff of it)

Looks good though!
 Have a nice day!

I've recently put one on.....after reading that I'm just off out to 'test' it with some peds in the high street. Very Happy

Video evidence looks promising

They showed some very striking video on the news..

Ah found it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/england/realmedia/midlandstoday/bulletin.ram (sorry Simon, seems to be RealAudio only) - skip to 9 mins 58 secs.

Off Topic There's also a bit about Jaguar on just before it..

It's very interesting that this A frame actually improves the pedestrian protection.
I’ve been considering putting one on mine. They would look better if the “Land Rover” lettering at the top was painted or had the badge from the bonnet fitted. Does it look as if the 3D decals would fit?

I recall that the A bar lettering is slightly larger ...I'll check for you later Matt.

You could put a bag over it, like TFC has. At least it keeps the blood and flesh out.

indeed, that option may cause more than a little smarting.
I think NCAP-wise, it's great as an adult to be run over by a Landy but worse as a kid - vice versa for "short" cars Smile
