<solved> Dead Disco
My dads D4 XS, (62 plate) was driven to a restaurant Friday and this was without issue, but upon restarting he said a warning message appeared and he instinctively turned it off, but after this the car was completely dead, it would not start, the electrics would not come back on, which unfortunately left him with a dead disco with a window wound down.
Car LRA, but was told it had run out, (no offer to extend it, so he hadn't realised), but rang Greenflag, who checked the battery and fuses but these were all ok, the driver took my mum back home to fetch the second key, but that didn't work either.
Since they couldnt get him to the LR service centre before they closed, we are waiting on it been delivered today from storage, then to be looked at
Any ideas what it could be, to make it a paper weight
Not been offered extended warranty is another issue to be tackled

he said he didn't read it, it said warning and he instinctively turned it off
He doesn't recall any other lights been lit on the dash either, no Christmas tree effect lighting up
I'm guessing its a case of waiting to arrive at the dealers and them plugging it in to see what the computer says, if the car comes to life

Just been informed that the breakdown company have just loaded it, to deliver to the LR dealer for them to look at it, so fingers crossed might know more soon

Immobiliser "forgotten" the keys maybe?
Apparently it's happened before on D4's

Plausible as he did have a new key issued a couple of months ago due to it falling apart
It's at dealers now, so just waiting upon them looking at it

just had call from dealer
The issue was down to a failure of the battery, they have tested alternator and other items and this is the only issue they can find
The battery was so dead the battery tester would not even read it, which in its self is strange as greenflag said the battery was fine and tried a booster also i believe (i might be wrong)
Well the dealers know how to charge for a genuine LR battery
