Just been on the VW web-site. What can I say? I get my D3 in 4 days and I haven't seen anything there to make me wish I'd looked further afield than a Disco. No disrespect intended. Each to their own and all that.

Kind of reminded me of a bas**rd child begat of a Polo and a Cayenne..... Surprised

Hope you enjoy the new car mate!

I enjoyed a long drive in a V10 TDi Toerag. Loved the engine & early 20's (mpg) was achievable.
I prefer the looks to that of it's Porsche relative & the build quality seemed superb.
In comparison to the D3 I'd say the model I drove was more akin to a R/R as it felt more luxurious than a D3. Handling wise I don't think that there is much in it either way, maybe the D3's steering is a litte more direct. Off-road both vehicles would be more than capable enough for my demands.
I personally prefer the looks of the D3 & find it more spaceous (but I'm 6ft7") & comfy. The 7 seats will be handy as well.
I also like the more utilitarian feel to the interior of the D3.
I'd imagine a fully prepped Toerag would be great fun though & I can't imagine that that the reliability issues could be comparable to the D3.
If I'm honest, this forum is making me feel fairly nervous about the prospect of buying a new TDV6 HSE. I'm not sure I have the time/patience for all the electrical glitches that seem to be a given when owning a D3!

The Touareg still charted on Truck Trend's comparison, so no worries. 8) http://trucktrend.com/roadtests/suv/163_05...ndex9.html

There was a thread a while back about an R/C D3 - surely you should have bought one of those, or perhaps you are going to re-body the toe-rag?

Had us all going though - I even had a look at the UK toerag forums.... Wink
