Sorry to be a pain....

I currently have 4 Scorpions on my D3, which despite having had no hard work in any way shape or form, they have only lasted about 17K - I bought it with 26K on the clock and now just short of 43K, and the tyres looked very new with the knobbly bits still on the tyre walls etc.

I am now looking at having x4 new tyres and I don't know what to get, Wranglers, a new set of Scorpions or a set of AT2's. I do go off road (sometimes) more often in a a field and with a 10' IWT on the back. Anyone got any preferences or advice ? I am preferably after something that lasts more than 17K ??? Help please javascript:emoticon('Embarassed')

I can confirm your experience with the scorpions. The winter version is OK, the summer version is a disastar.
I went for a set of Wranglers and a set of AT2's . Although I have a wheel for each tire (12 in total), I don't find the time to swap them. This summer I spent on at2, didn't do any long distance highway though. Next summer I will start on the wranglers. Of course, in the field, the at2s are better. On highway not. Difficult to say though how much worse they are....

I swapped to AT2 shortly after purchase and have no regrets, did over 40k on first set then swapped early due to putting flint through side wall. Noise levels did increase but not anything to worry about. I do a good mix, currently on a trip from Norfolk to Hereford perfectly capable on a wet motorway great in the white stuff and when back home very capable in the clay mud of home, much better then the standard road tyre. Your only problem will be if your on 19" in which case no AT2's!
It's my mud so keep out!

I have AT2 on mine and have noticed a slight increase in noise, but nothing worth worrying about really, the cabin is still very quiet. Off road they have been fantastic and I've not had any hairy moments in the ice or snow, but obviously can't compare them to the scorpions that were on beforehand.

they look 8) too!
