Spare bulb kit for France driving
I'm off to La France in a few weeks and obviously need a spare bulb kit. Can anybody recommend a bulb kit (Halfrauds/Amazon) that suits the D3 best - i.e. LOADS of brake bulbs but none of the H4 bulbs cos I have xenons?

I usually just take a varied Halfords cheapo bulb collection kit.
Some may not be totally suitable but the kit does show that you're carrying spares if stopped by the local gendarmes ( Le Rozzers ).
Still not totally sure if the breathalyser enforcement is ever applied.
Pay the tolls + drive to the speed limits, you'll be ok.Mods:

Breathalyser requirement was ‘suspended’ but I still chuck one in anyway
I also carry a selection of bulbs. Some are relevant some are not but shows willing
Exactly what I do. I have been asked to show them by a Gendarme at the port - en route to the UK !
NJSSAm I Gammon or Woke ? - I neither know nor care.

Don’t think they can ask, it’s not a requirement in law to have, only thing is if you have a lamp blow and you can’t change it the vehicle can be towed away, considering some vehicles it can be a two hour job to change a bulb and most lamps now are LED it’s getting a bit out dated.

Agreed. It’s like all these things that end up being “the law” in France which isn’t the case. It’s not “the law” to carry a hi viz tabbard, it’s the law that you must have one if you put a foot on the hard shoulder but not to carry one. Subtle difference. And re alco breath tests, it was yet another stupid French law that the Gendarmes officially said they wouldn’t be enforcing.

Be aware that towing speeds are different over there, it is dependant on total train weight, under 3.5 tonne and you can do upto 110 KPH dependant on type of road, over 3.5 tonne and you can only do up to 90 KPH.2011 Discovery 4 XS in Fuji White
