Spose it just had to happen eventually!
Well after two and a half years of glitch free permagrin it all went wrong!
Last week my D3 suddenly contracted the suspension disease.
No special programs and only normal height available. In addition to this I was goaded by my kids to burn off a police car at the lights and realised I'd left about a sack of coal over the road behind me. Then the Sat Nav said I had a DVD read error and my rear wiper packed up.
Worst of all my upper glove box started to rattle!
Well me I thought, has my D3 read my mind and got the hump with me, I was only looking at the D4 for a mo.
After 17 phone calls I am now driving a 58 plate SE in Java and my baby is in intesive care with Dunton LR. (A new LR dealership I'm told)
My D3 hasn't really missed a beat from day one apart from the hand brake squeaking early on. Oh and some drunk in a nicked motor trying his hardest to see which comes off worse in a head on between a Megane and a D3. I can't blame the D3 for that or completely trashing the Megane but not the driver .
Suffice to say the D3 now awaits the diagnosis that the compreesor (Which was making a funny noise) is asthmatic and needs replacing and the smoke is just overfuelling caused by what looks to be a software bug.
Once sorted I supose I'll have to get Mr TC round to reintroduce BHP and Torque to the engine, as I'm sure they'll be missed.
Sort of gutted but miss her dearly.

PS. Some little thought that it would be a good idea to wind me up just a tad before she went in for repair.

I should be happy it wasn't something more involved really. Still it was a total to get off being fatty it stuck like to a blanket. I gave it a quick sponge off but left it smeary as the truck had arrived to collect her.
Hopefully LR will give her a clean before they send it back. FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

Having got my nose up to it before I washed it off, I would guess it was a plain Greek yoghurt.
It may have had a slight flavour to it but without DSL's hounds to confirm, I wouldn't like to say.
My Mrs said it had split so I didn't fancy a lick myself. Not that I think DSL's hounds should lick split yoghurt, that would be cruel. I think the hounds should be given the choice to lick split yoghurt or not.

Well I just went to collect my D3 from Dunton and they told me it was two sensors, one OSF and NSR causing the problem with the suspension. I asked about the noise the compressor was making and they tiold me that was normal. I said it used to lift silently and he shrugged his shoulders!
The smoke was caused by a split in the pipe from the intercooler which allowed the engine to suck too much air. I assume this meant the system threw buckets of fuel in to compensate, hence the smoke. The replaced the pipe and reset the engine module.
They fixed the rear wiper though!
As I left in my D3 the info module said "suspension raising slowly" so immediately took it back. They decided to keep it there to run further tests and I left in the loaner.
I've now had a call saying they can't find antything wrong with it. I told them the fault was caused by the compressor and it needs to be replaced.
Anyone out there able to help me with this?
Am I right saying the compressor faulty?

Wot flavour yoghurt. If its natural its the ECO terrorists showing their distaste - they have it in abundance, it gets rid of their thrush
Joking aside, hope the D3 gets back soonest, with a healthy heart beat

The "suspension raising slowly" message can appear without anything being faulty. I think it means that the compressed air in the reservoir is exhausted and the vehicle can only raise up as fast as the compressor can pump. Raising and lowering the suspension a couple of times can trigger it. It should go away once the compressor has raised the car and filled up the reservoir again.

Hi
I wasn't going up and down before the message came up. It appeared the first time I started it and raised to normal height. I would have expected the system to top itself up whilst the car was moving and be ready for my next lift. I dropped the suspension and lifted again to normal and the indicator lights showed the arrow up lit for some time and then the info module said vehicle raising slowly.
Just seemed annoying that they had the car to test and when I told them I had a problem the guy went into hiding and pushed some girl out to talk to me. If he'd come out and said that it was normal until the tank was filled I would have taken it there and then.

AFAIK the "suspension raising slowly" message and the noise nearly always points to a failure (or imminent failure) of the suspension compressor (or possibly a reservoir valve problem)
While my D3 was in recently at Beadles they told me these are very common problems.
Mine actually went in for an AirCon compressor but (mistakenly) they had ordered an suspension compressor (as they are the usual culprits)
