Alan,

They will start with OV, OE, OU number plates, top spec, and white as already mentioned. If it's ex LRE the previous owner stated in the log book will be a commercial car fleet supplier in Oxfordshire Thumbs Up

Check the Sat Nav, it was a simple check that I did on mine to see what it had done and where It had been as I had the same concerns. My 2014 D4 HSE Lux had destinations entered all around Birmingham and it looked as though it has been used as either a management pool vehicle or VIP ferry - it only had 10k on it when I bought it last September and was in mint condition
Yes I bought mine last June 4,500 miles mint except for some minor scratches.Well pleased big discount off new price.I had the oil changed and pro waxolyed ( I have had too many Land Rovers to know that needs doing )Unfortunately my wife had her first drive and drove to close to the hedge and connected to a small branch so it has got a slightly bigger scratch now. Biggest giveaway is a fitted fire extinguisher. Thumbs Up

Some dealers remove but usually leave bracket in, otherwise several large holes in trim.

Also very low mileage is a giveaway, if its been serviced check with whom, usually done by nearest dealer to LRE centre

Wheels trims etc are re furbed before going out for re-sale so everything on the outside should look un damaged and give no clues as to its previous life.

I had a Freelander 2 x LRE though did not know at time, nice low mileage, looked good nick though only 18 months old yr old. By the time I reached 6,000 miles it had destroyed the front wheel bearings and needed another complete new gearbox and intercooler. Yes did say another gearbox as I then found out it had already been replaced at 3,5 k.

Would like to think a D4 is a bit more manly than a Freelander, but I would be very cautious, Ok has warranty, so had mine, but had about 10 trips to dealers, loan car for nearly 4 weeks, (no gearboxes available) and a dealer who didn't initially want to know. Ended up with a car that could never trust again, so more expense when trading in earlier than anticipated.

Its not even as if they sell them at a decent discount, plenty out there with a less stressful life

I think that you'll find that the correct term is "suffix".

Any advice on this as being an ex LRE vehicle? I think the dealer said it was previously owned by Hertz.

LR dealers are not permitted to retail ex LRE vehicles.

What?! It's the usual disposal route for ex LRE cars.

Do you have new evidence to support this?

A couple of years ago when I was buying a Freelander 2 from main dealer I asked to see v5 as it was ex LR. I was told that main dealers were no longer allowed to retail LRE vehicles. In the past it was permitted but stopped due to obvious reasons.

Is there confusion between LRE vehicles and LR Management vehicles?

United Kingdom

All of their vehicles are registered in Oxford, with an “O” plate, to the same organisation, irrespective of whether they are LRE cars, employee cars, LR pool cars, cars leased to rental fleet companies or LR Assist loan vehicles. All of them are referred to as “Land Rover Management cars”, no matter what they’ve been used for, as Land Rover “Manage” them. It’s only us that then assume that they are driven by “Managers” Rolling Eyes

I’ve bought 3 of them with my own money, they’ve all been mostly okay, but I’ve known to avoid the high spec white ones like the plague!
