Well that’s 3 combinations. Laughing
That one above is quite close to the assessory information, but not the same

Maybe they are referring to a discovery 2 ?

That would make more sense ref the disco 2

Am really over the moon that u so kindly provided the PIN numbers and knowing there correctly , can’t thank u enough

Once the switches etc arrive I’ll then sit in the motor to see what it looks like in situ , even have the option of mounting it where the satnav would normally go on a switch panel

But of course I do like to make things complicated and terrible when I overthink jobs, taking more time making a decision than doing the work Rolling with laughter

Based on the switch being as per the diagrams below: -

I would connect as follows: -

Switch
2 ---> Main Beam Feed
3 ---> Relay 85
6 ---> Ground
7 ---> Ground
8 ---> Illumination/Side Lights Feed

Relay
85 ---> Switch Pin 3
86 ---> Ground
30 ---> Fused 12V Feed
87 ---> To Spotlights

This would illuminate the switch (green) when the sidelights are on and illuminate the orange light when the spots are on.

The problem is that it’s not easy to find a positive switched main beam signal in the car.
Either need to crawl behind the cjb or run it back from the headlight

Having said that, I wonder were the genuine LR loom plugs in.
The headlight switch and somewhere else?

Many thks for the great help, apologises being such a royal pain

Here’s a link to the loom I’ve got and how it plugs into the various connectors , hope it clears up where some of the connections are made

https://media.disco3.co.uk/ownerinfo/XQB50...%20DOC.pdf

Did See that I’ve got to find a grey connector inside the engine bays fuse box, also connections to the passenger fuse box

Hope that’s useful and thks again

Also found some of the connections , in the engines fuse box I’m pretty sure the connector isnt there as I’ve got the base model, however I found the connector from that full engine bay loom I bought ages ago

Can’t find ref connector C0041

Well if you haven’t got the connector under the engine bay fusebox, I’ll have to come up with a different plan tonight

Hi Pete

Looked on that second hand loom I’ve got and found the connector I need, also has the pins so should just be the case of plugging it into the back of F19

As always many thks Bow down

But you also need to run a wire into the car (this will always be a requirement if you want a switch)
to the CJB pin C0584-23

Can you get to that ?

The missing connector is hidden inside the fusebox, below all the fuses. But I guess you didn't see it when doing your washer jets

So the grey/pink SK wire needs running into the car. (from your scrap loom)

See if you can find out where C0584-23 (i.e is it easy to get to ?) and insert the above wire.

If not, you could go for a very simple approach of connecting this wire to the new dash switch and then to the steering wheel stalk. The disadvantage of this would be:

1) If you left the stalk in the main beam position the grill lights would be on even when ignition and all other lights off. (fairly obvious)!
2) The grill lights would not come on when you flashed people.

However looking at the LR accessory instructions, which are way complex for wiring in the car, it would be much easier!

Hiya

Many thks and will indeed see if I can find it

That’s a very good point about running a wire into the cabin and to be honest hadn’t given it a second thought

Suppose at the end of the day having a base model my biggest worry is when adding this genuine loom that it doesn’t work and needs extra wires

Will do some further searching for that C0584-23 connector , won’t be able to check inside the fuse box as of yet but at some stage

Can’t thk u enough and my god I like opening a can of worms, lol

Just done a search and found that C0584-23 connector , looks like it’s behind the CJB

I’ve seen that green connector on my old loom so suppose that’s half the battle , fingers crossed the connector is inside the engine bays fuse box ???

If I do need to get to the C0584-23 connector it looks a right Censored , do have one of those small cameras I might be able to put down the back to see if it’s there, I’ll disconnect the battery first so I don’t touch anything causing something to fuse

Assume this connector goes to that other one inside the engine bays fusebox

Thks again Thumbs Up

I wonder if that pink and grey wire is the one shown on the RH side of the first pic

Just found some of my old pictures when I done the heated washer jets , alas looks like there’s no connector ??

There was me thinking it would be a simple plug and play job, I do pick ‘em, Laughing

Ps, I wonder if anyone else has fitted a genuine loom in a base model

Also found an online picture if that connector ( have this from the old loom and the pins on the end that plug into F19 )

Am wondering if one side of the pin is there like when I added the heated washer jets and just need to add the other side to complete both pins for the fuse

It's does look a bit like you have the 2 wires in that first picture.
If you remove Fuse 19, and it has metal terminals in both holes, then I would say 99% you have that connector.

There should be no need to get to the back of the CJB and that should be avoided at all costs Laughing
But thanks for confirming where it is, and we will avoid it, as its difficult
