Star Performer Tyres?

Hi,

Im looking for some 225/55/R19s for my Disco, whilst im mainly on road, I use it for towing a racing car to hillclimbs which means wet grassy hills, so something that works for that is required.

I came across these, which have a reasonable looking tread pattern and I wondered if anyone has any experience of this brand. Its cheap, but is it worht the savings, do they handle ok etc?

That sort of tyre is commonly known as 'Chinese ditch finders'

Would touch them with a barge pole. Whistle

For another £18 per tyre you can get these which are highly regarded on here

LR Experience site

Eastnor (where LR engineers have nightmares)
Has lots of wet grass...this is a main feature
What do they use on the experience cars.

The experience place that used to be near Skipton (Coniston) used OEM tyres nothing special they told me....they weren't knobbly off road ones.

Wet grass is one if the more challenging.

I've wintracs in my D3 (which I'm told are terrible at wet grass) but......my antics off road towing horse boxes have been impressive & in some journeys grass with snow & slush.

There's a wide range of prices you can pay....£110 to over £180.....I beilieve Nokian exceed that
.......but you've got solid data off this site.

I've found over the years - "the lower the cost the less miles they seem to do".....& ivectried lots if brands ordisry cars & a series of Discos, 1's, 2's & a 3

One thing gat you D3 tracked when you swap tyres & fix any suspension issues - either of these will foreshorten tyre life dramatically (to your cost)
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.
