OK Given this a go now and a quick stab doesn't do it but a push held for perhaps a a second or two then release....the lights come up and the starter operates Morris Dancers: Drinkers with A Dance Problem

Tried today - quick push with foot on or off brake doesn't initiate anything.
Pressed and held briefly and lights came on and then engine started. Didn't have to hold in as I have been doing so will be interesting to see if "problem" returns.
Does make you wonder why there seems to be a mix of quick and long presses required to initiate starting??

I had this a few months ago, in the end took to dealer who fitted new switch under warranty, been spot on ever since. I don't know how much a new switch is if not under warranty but I would imagine it's a fiddle to strip dash down to replace it? Worth a look, good luck, Lukey.
