Steering still not 100%

New steering rack
New inner and outer track rods
New front upper and lower arms
New rear upper and lower arms
New drop links front and back
New ARB bushes front and back
All tyres under 2 years and 6-7mm tread

Coming back from a funeral on the M1 swimbo driving and the car is wandering she is constantly adjusting the wheel could this be lower steering that connects to the rack, after 5 swift punts at the wake I feel sea sick

Could it be rear wheel steering?

Everything replaced and Hunter 4 wheel aligned

Seems to have a lot of play in steering which is why I suspect lower shaft as it’s had a new rack

Worth changing it for the price considering what you've already spent I think.

Don't know if it's any use but mines in the garage for a lpfp new rear w/ bearings told them to do rear discs as well all started because it went in for tracking and he would not do it as the rear camber adjusters were seized the fitter said he's had a good few in for tracking after they had been elsewhere because if the dont free off any seized adjuster prior to the adjustment they just spring back as soon as you leave may be worth checking that as well
The wheel bearing replacement has come about because there is some play in them so I thought may as well get them done before he does the tracking and the piggin lpfp came out in sympathy and decided to pack in just before I went back to get the tracking done

All new at the back but I’m going to lift each wheel and see if I can get any play, but I’m going to get a new lower shaft fitted just to knock that off the list

I wwill be interested to hear if it cures your fault as I am chasing similar but want to be sure before I shell out on a new rack. Can't feel any play in the shaft by hand

Turns out it was mainly swimbos fault Laughing I drove over 300 miles yesterday and parts of the M18 are pin straight if I took my hand of the wheel she drove perfectly straight I think the issue is over 80 (on my private drive 😂) the slightest movement of the wheel transfers a big movement on the road, swimbo drives a sporty Q3 Quattro they are very different beasts on the road

A mate and I shared the driving up to Yorkshire a couple of summers ago. He normally drives a Ford Ranger and he nearly made me seasick as he just could get used the lighter more accurate steering in the D4. He thought he was still in he Ranger so every overtake was a big swing out to change lanes and a big swing back.
