Steering Wheel?

Hi all,

Can someone point me at the thread that gives the details for removing the steering wheel?

Nope... can't find it either!

But what do you want to know in particular, I have taken mine off three times this week (don't ask!), and can point you in the right direction if it helps.

Just PM me and I will see what I can advise

Steve

When I did mine, the bit that confused was taking the wires out of the airbag.

Two things to say:

1) The wires unplug at the airbag end (not the steering wheel end)
2) grab the whole black plug (not the coloured bits on each black plug) and pull out. They don't slide in or anything. If you were holding the airbag so the land rover logo was pointing at the roof of your car, the plugs pull out straight down towards the floor of the car.

I hope this stops you spending the 20 minutes I did trying to figure out how do something that's really easy Laughing

Oh and don't forget to unplug the battery and wait 15 mins before releasing the airbag ...

Cheers,
Rob.

Hardest part for me was undoing the big nut that holds the wheel in place. It relly was very tight, and not that easy to get at with a normal length socket set. I felt sure that something catastrophic was about to happen as I put my considerable frame behind the Heath Robinson socket extension I'd had to put together. But eventually it did give and the rest was child's play.

Oh - and make sure you note which of the two plugs comes out of which socket on the airbag. They're colour coded, but the colours of the plugs and sockets don't match! Nice one LR...
