steering wheel buttons - resistance values

My audio control buttons (on steering wheel) suddenly stopped working - only the VOLUME UP works. As far as I know the input is evalued in radio unit (low line audio) - by specific voltage on the connector input.
Anyone know the reference values (either voltage or ohms) for the individual buttons?

I plan to check at the radio connector side in order not to have to put airbag down etc. thanks

Take a look at this circuit diagram (courtesy of Wiggs):

http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...system.pdf

Whilst it doesn't give actual resitance values, if you're getting a reading for 1 button but not others then it would suggest some of the buttons are failing. The button units are 'repairable' I believe - just a couple of screws once you manage to remove them from the steering wheel.

thanks for the info and link Thumbs Up I knew that wiggs had it somewhere in his gallery - but was not able to find it.

I just have them on for cca 1 year - and they are already failing - what a crap. Crying or Very sad

Although it could be the switch panel that is failing, a more common fault would be the clockspring.

My audio buttons got gradually worse and a new clock spring fixed it 100% Thumbs Up

hmm - something is going wrong there - it was working fine again after it was parked in a warm garage whole day. Will see tomorrow. Thanks for the ideas - the clock spring might also be the reason - some moisture condensing etc.

Or maybe the reason is that it is Censored d Thumbs Up

Intermittent funcionality and only some buttons working (which may change if you have the wheel turned) is a classic sign of a Censored clockspring Thumbs Up

I think I may have this clockspring problem too! - Usually the Cruise buttons give up but sometimes it is the phone stuff and volume. THe local main dealer have replaced the buttons 2x (Once on warranty, second time I had to pay £80)
Is there anyone in the East Mids who can sort this (and fix my dodgy Bluetooth as well?)

It would appear TFC is unobtainable ....
Any one else around the East Mids who knows how to do this Clockspring repair for a cruise control. - Whilst I am at it, does anyone know if the adaptive cc has been done yet? - I'd love that mod! (Although I have no front parking sensors) - Costs anyone?
