Stereo cutting out

Anyone else getting a problem with the stereo where it just cuts out and a few seconds later you can turn it back on again but moments later it cuts out again, I’m loosing the satnav screen as well when it cuts out, I’ve replaced the relay and checked the fuses all is well, I’ve taken out the fibre cable and plugged it back in, I have done a hard re-set and still no joy.

Any bit of help would be great as it’s been doing this for the last 3months.

When this happened on my Wife's Freelander 2, it was caused by a faulty BlueTooth module. Replaced the module and it was all fixed.

In that case it could be one of the other modules on the fibre optic (Most) circuit (not sure how many there are). There is a fault finding video by Powerfuluk here. It's for an RRS but they are basically the same.

Mine did that when I spilt coffee off the ledge by the satnav. It dripped onto the radio circuit board.

Might be worth pulling it out and giving it a clean with an air duster and checking connections.

Does the display switch off or do you loose the sound?

The whole display shuts off including the satnav screen

a lot of the time its the Amp under the seat that's the issue but as you are loosing the display it does sound like the head unit have you checked the power supply to make sure you have constant power to it?

I have checked the power supply mate, even when the key is in the ignition there is power to the unit. No point in buying a new unit might aswell update it for the same cost but I have no idea how to install one

Do a quick search on here there are a few threads on upgrading the head unit but as you have the Harmon Kardon or Logic 7 system it's not going to be easy or cheap.
As the head unit connects to the Amp via the fibre optics MOST system you will need a kit to convert the head unit outputs into fibre optics or you will have to bypass the amp completely which looses a lot of quality.
There is a cheaper option which puts another unit where the satnav fits and connects to the Aux port of the old system, but the original system needs to be working

My original plan was to
Fit a new head unit where the sat nav is, never mind. I’m sure it can be fixed

It can be done but I know the fitting kits from connect2 are around £250 and then you have to buy the head unit.
thats if you want to replace the original head unit.

But im sure you can pick up a replacement 6 disc head unit cheap enough and then you can fit an Aux unit where the sat nav goes
