Stereo turns off then on again.

The previous owner of my D4 mentioned that the stereo cuts out and then turns back on. Which to him didn't matter too much, but to me is very frustrating. It only cuts out for approxamatly 3 secs or so.

The LCD screen shows the Radio and CD touchscreen buttons turn a shade of grey when the system seems to cut out. Strangley the DAB button doesnt.
This appears to be happening to the machine on any of the options it is playing through, ie: Radio, DAB, CD.

Just wondering if has experienced these issues and found an easy fix. If not, maybe a replacement unit...

I am presuming the radio is built into the CD player, after watching a YouTube video of a chap removing some parts fromm this area. So, if I wanted to replace the offending part, it would only be this unit.

Many thanks, and may I say what a useful resource this forum is.

Similar problem to this?
https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/audio-system-dead-56540.html

The head unit connects to amp and dab via fibre MOST circuit and if that has any issues you’ll see this behaviour Thumbs Up

Checking will mean all seats out and carpet up (sounds worse than it is )

Let us know if you get to the bottom of this.

Worth having fault codes read!

Its not quite that issue. My touch screen unit is still usable and all works for the short period its out...

To me its like the amp cuts out. then reconnects.

Is the Amp a seperate unit?

Will have the fault codes read ASAP.

Thank you for your quick response.

The Amp working intermittently wouldn’t cause the buttons to grey out, but loss off the MOST would. When it happens again, go into the diagnostic screen and see if the Integrated Audio Module (IAM) is showing.

So a Slight update.
Had the fault codes checked, sadly nothing wrong Per Se...

Thank you M3bobby, I have checked the Diagnostic screen, but when this issue happens the MOST flashes an error for a milli second then goes back to blank. so I am a little confused. Its like its reading an error, then recovers.

Sarahhowen01, Its super frustrating now. I love to drive to music. Sadly My iPhone 7 doesn't connect via the USB so no more Podcasts either.

Mine turned out to be the DAB module that was affecting everything, replaced it and no issues at all now

United Kingdom

looking on fleabay there are different part numbers coming up for a DAB module

AH42-19C032-AE.

CPLA-14F720-BN

these are 2 I found but there may more, not checked further

my DAB is just very poor reception which I don't know is down to DAB coverage being poor or issues with my DAB module or antenna

whats the difference between the part numbers ? early/late D4 models ?

I’m not sure about why the numbers are different all I was told was to make sure it’s the same number one as you have in your car, by removing some of the trim you should be able to find out
