You checked??
Not the full HPI just the 'if stolen' part. They've been quite slow recently and I was wondering if they have stopped it.

Blimey so yours is stolen whilst it's in the dealers, they find you a replacement and that gets stolen too before you can pick it up, defines 'unlucky' that does!

Any joy with the Police in hopefully recovering your car or will this just be another crime statistic?
Logged with the police Monday morning. 23 hours later, call closed due to lack of evidence!
Reg number been added as stolen and registered on the ANPR system.
I also informed the finance company, just waiting for an ‘interview’

So that's it, they won't even bother looking for it unless it hits ANPR (which it wont as the plates will have been changed or the car stripped).
Poor, I'd be asking the finance company to interview the Police!

When I bought the car 3 years ago, I had concerns about keyless entry / stop start, I asked if I could buy an HSE with a key start. From memory the base model had a key. I was told it was not possible.
I was reading this article at the weekend http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-56...-risk.html not thinking it would happen to me. Interestingly it mentions:
"Range Rovers were quietly fitted with new technology to prevent keyless car theft last month but its makers didn't publicise it to avoid acknowledging that older models were at risk, experts claimed"
I wonder if they will do the same for the discovery.

It's showing up this morning as 'Stolen' which is a touch too slow for my liking

There is always a minimum of a 24 hr delay before it appears on civilian databases... the PNC does a daily dump at midnight which is then uploaded subsequently on the aftermarket systems..
