I believe it will still be vulnerable to OBD key programming....

No such thing as 'theft proof.'
So if that's the case then why all the moaning about not enough being done by manufacturers.

I tried to programme a new key to my D4 with iid. Didn't work. Contacted gap who said not possible without dealer equipment on this model. L633 Defender

Unfortunately your equipment is not connected.... the systems that are out there programme keys via connection to the JLR systems.... it’s called pass through programming...
These devices are available to purchase and a number of wrong people have them...the issue is under Right to Repair, the OEM’s have to release the data to any ‘business’.... hence OBD key programming is impossible to stop.
Who polices which ‘business’ should or should not be granted access.... Some OEM’s go to great length to prevent unauthorised access but it is an impossible situation... Hence why some OEM’s have had to get closer and engage with Police....
For reassurance JLR is probably the best manufacturer out there! To truly protect yourself from the likes of rogue car washes or valet parking companies an OBD locking device is suggested...

Very sorry to hear of another loss of car!!
This made me go buy some bags to put my keys in, I bought the Defender Signal Blocker one as they seem well respected...... well all I can say is pointless, put the key in the pouch, waited a while as it says to wait 30 seconds, in fact waited 10 minutes and went to car and it opens it like normal.
This is the one I bought so don't waste your money.

I have one of the Defender screening pouches and it definitely works for me. I'm not implying you are doing it wrong but if I put the keys into the inner most white pocket (with the 'Insert Phone Here' on it) and close the flap fully then I cannot open the doors even with the pouch touching the door - and I have tried every door and the boot. The moment I open the flap or take out a key it works. I would send yours back as faulty. Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE '65 - Projects in planning phase!

At least you don't need to buy another one . My first attempt was a tin with Landrover emblem - when it arrived it was a tobacco tin with a sticker on it and did nothing to shield the keys! And cost more than the pouch! Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE '65 - Projects in planning phase!
