Strange screaching noise when park up and turn engine off
Hi all, everytime I park up and turn off the engine I get a screeching noise. Not from the engine but from what I can only think is the brakes system, the parking brake.
There does look to be oil leaking from the front but the noise comes from the back. Also the P parking brake light flashes when the engine is off.
Any ideas please?
Thanks

Faulty Rear locking differential motor makes a screeching sound when turning engine off, I don't know if you have one though...

EPB adjustment you can do in about an hour tops if that's all it is. Get it sorted soon though - the screeching is a precursor to more serious issues if it's not addressed.2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

And hopefully a free fix if the OP does his own spannercraft.
Bodsey has saved me a fortune doing my own brakes, over the years.

Hi all, been told if its module gone I'm looking at £600 for that alone then fixing etc. He says if you are hearing that noise it usually means its damaged.
If it is that anyway of doing it cheaper?
Mark
Thanks all.

Did you try and adjust it - That normally stops the screeching.2010 Disco 4 HSE

No I'm no good with things like that. Why might it just need adjusting?

Yes, Follow the brake bible for EPB adjustment, but if you leave it you will damage it.
I would limit your use of the EPB until its been adjusted.2010 Disco 4 HSE
