Strange suspension problem |
|
I have a strange problem that I’m sure some of you have seen before! When starting the cat I get:
HDC Fault System Unavailable.
Special Programmes Unavailable (unable to select any)
Suspension Lowered (unable to raise it via the switch)
Park Brake Fault (although it still works)
The ABS warning light is yellow.
The (!) light which I think is Park Brake is yellow
There is a warning yellow exclamation mark, inside a triangle and with curvy arrow.
There is a warning yellow light with a graphic of the car and up down and side to side arrows by it.
If I start the car and immediately move the raise switch the back of the car goes up but the front stays flat on the floor. I need to get the errors read but just wondering if you guys had seen it before.
Thanks

Possibly front pipe come adrift or leak in front pipe valve on control unit valve open. Front pipe goes to control valves just behind front bumper on RH side when sitting in car.
Did this just start or were there other symptoms

I only bought the car on thursday, with the suspension lights on, the guy had changed the compressor (old one in the boot) i wondered if it could be it just needed resetting. When i first start the the car, if i hold up the back goes up to normal height, up again, then it goes upto off road height. The more and more i think about it, its has to be either a front ride height sensor or the valve block that you are talking about

They might not have put the pipes in properly when compressor was changed, would check that first

just a bit of a update, ive pulled of the front suspension air valve thingy, took it apart and the middle solenoid was stuck. put back on the car and re piped it now the compressor just runs and leaks air! so ill have to have a look at resealing some of the connections later. Hopefully thats all it is, still haven't plugged it in yet so will hopefully do it this weekend if i can get over my mates. Will update later. Thanks for your help so far.

There are "O" rings in there. Make sure pipes are home. There are bulges on the pipes where they should be pushed in to

So ive now checked the compressor, theres no air leaks around that any more. When i start the car if im quick i can tell it to lift up and both the back and the front lift. As soon as i start to move it comes up with lowering suspension and drops its self back to the floor again.

Just remember that the suspension lowers for lots of different reasons. You might not have a suspension fault at all. Ideally you need the faults read. Simon.

Just a update, had codes read, loads and loads of codes. As it turned out all it needed was the steering angle sensor calibrating. Calibrated it then the car rose from the flat! Turns out got a leaky air bag but that’s a different story. Thanks for the help gents
