Most insurance companies if not all do new for old for at least a year and the NFU do 2 years for free. Why would you pay for more?
Why worry about the paint guard? When you sell the car no matter if you put in the ad that it has had a fancy paint guard it won't make any more money no matter what the dealer tells you!
My father in law just sold his Audi 10 years old with 280k miles and the paint still looks great as he never took it through a car wash. Paint guard would not have made any difference except show that he had fallen for the "cherish your prized investement and show it you love it" rubbish.

The dealer are quoting £399 for each but if you take both out at the same time you get the Supaguard for only £200.

The Gap Ins is therefore £399 but it lasts until the car is 3 years old.

Total cost is £599
I bit of a rip off - I (think I) paid £548 for the two, picked mine up last Saturday 11th Feb Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Paul,I've never used any paint protection system before, but with the D3 dimensions a treatment that means future washes with only water & then drying would be helpful.
I'm 6ft 7" but I still don't relish the thought of washing a D3!
Hopefully, may add a little extra protection against light scratches from brambles etc. for those who venture off-road.

After thinking about it long and hard, weve cancelled the Gap and Supaguard from the dealer and im arranging the Gap Ins independantly.

Its different in the cold light of day compared to the warmth and friendly atmosphere at the dealers.

Only ever have the paint guard like Supaguard applied to a new car! Once you have driven aound in a new car and it gets dirty you will never get that showroom condition again and by applying the paint protector you simply lock the dirt under the supaguard - not advisable. In fact applying suaguard to a used car is a complete waste of time and money and can do more harm than good.
Loving the power of the TDV8!

Thats a good point!
We spent the £400 on side steps and I can just reach the top when I'm stood on them. I know it's a pain cleaning it but us British...... It's out favorite Sunday pastime is it not?

Regards

Mine got its first wash today! I have a little three step aluminium ladder which does the job just right (still not sure whether I'll need it to check the oil Very Happy )

Used the Supaguard Anti-Acidic Rain Confused Shampoo and it came up beautifully...

...for 10 minutes, then had to drive it again and got it dirty Shocked

My local dealer will refund the full cost of the paint protection if I chop my D3 in within 4 years! (Now do I trust them to give me the right value in the first place) Mr. Green
