However it's done, make sure they fit the bracket too, otherwise like mine, it vibrates and splits again in 18 months
Yes agreed..... the garage commented that the brackets were refitted after the clutch was replaced..... however the bolts were missing having probably shaken loose or something.
At these prices I really cannot afford to be doing this job again once completed.

what is the general feeling here.... Is it a fair assumption that ordinarily this pipe would never normally fail.
From what I have read and having spoken to others, it seems that the most likely cause is when there has been a clutch replacement carried out and the appropriate bolts and brackets holding it in place have not been replaced or fitted properly - this has then led to premature failure of the crossover pipe due to movement and vibration.
I have the opportunity of buying a decent secondhand pipe so do you think if the brackets and bolts are fitted correctly, then the pipe should last for a good few years ??
Any advice appreciated

I replied on another cross over pipe thread the other day as I’m having woes with my car. Basically the cross over pipe is a very poor piece of engineering. The flexible sections are very thin and prone to crack. Your correct in saying that it is excasserbated by the bracket being removed but I’ve heard of quite a few where the brackets have cracked themselves. One of the crossovers I was sent has a brokenbracket with it. I’ve had a jig made to enable removal of the flexible joints and replace them with the braided type flexible joints. I then will wrap with the proper competition exhaust wrap as the standard insulation falls to bits over time also. Jarrod
