hi new on here. just fitted hirsche compressor to my disco instead of my broke Hitachi. it comes with a relay. have been told it shouldn't need programming. do I have to change the relay or will it be ok. have started it up and all runs as it should. any advice welcome.

It's wise to change the relay too. 
Some compressors suffered failure due to over running when the old relay stuck so best to swap it out. Mods:
