Brake Shoes Spring Question

Hi all,

I'm in the middle of replacing my parking brake shoes and after stupidly throwing out the long parking brake cable springs, i've discovered that instead of including new ones the Britpart kit has two smaller springs in their place.

Can anyone tell me what these are for? It's been a few months since I took the old shoes off and i can't find any info online.

I'm hoping that they are alternate epb cable springs but I don't see how they could be or where else they could go.....

Sorry Steve, There seems to be some overlap between kits. Brake cable springs are included in a kit SMN500020. £24.94 from AF. I do not know if they are available separately elsewhere.

Thanks Ronald, I've picked up the set from the main dealer for the same price.
Shame 2/3 of the kit is surplus to requirements, but hey ho, it's still cheaper than having them fix it Smile

Current Faults

Rock Hard Brake Pedal - RRS Servo and master on their way.
Gearbox Whine in 1st

My original LR shoes had them but the replacements didn’t have holes for the spring so they are in the garage.....just in case.
