Suspension fault early in the morning

Hi guys,

While driving to work this morning I got a 'Suspension Fault'.

My commute include a number of speed humps, and as usual I put the D4 in Off-road height and then cruise control on 44kmh. I normally do this while driving back home only, but this morning I was in a bit of a hurry.

When I tried to lower/raise the car, it told me that 'Suspension will be raised when compressor temperature has cooled down' or something to that effect. Ambient temperature was 25C, so not sure why it would overheat?

I did read the fault with my IID, but silly me forgot to save the actual fault code. The description read something about the lines of 'temperature parameter missing'.

is this a serious issue? Confused

Naks, why do you put it into off road height to go to work ?

Are you exceeding 50km/h and getting a warning that the vehicle is lowering? (i know you said cruise control on but just checking)

Often the compressor will over heat if the vehicle is constantly raising and lowering. This often happens when in offroad mode and exceeding the "speed limit" which will cause the vehicle to lower and when you slow down it will raise again.

Bruce, the offroad height is so that I can cruise over the speed humps, which are only about 200m apart.
This stretch of my commute is only about 2km long, and I go back to normal height as soon as I'm past the last speed hump.

Cruise control is on 46kmh (residential zone), and although the display always says 'Reduce speed or vehicle will lower', but it has never lowered itself.

are you sure it's not lowering - and then rising as you slow? - so overworking the compressor and hence giving the problem?

I'd try to recreate the problem - cruise control at slightly different speeds, and if at higher speeds it's often there, then you've identified the problem. If not, then can't help, I'm afraid!

well, on cruise control the speed is almost constant.

I'll try it again when I go home this afternoon, temperature hit a max of 38C at 1pm earlier Whistle

tried it on the way to work and the fault did not re-occur.

it was probably too early to be doing this when it happened this morning and the car did not like it Laughing
