Suspension Fault, Normal Height Only
So driving my 08 Disco down the road when the fateful BONG came on and "Suspension Fault, Normal Height only" came up on the screen. https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/images/smiles/icon_bigcry.gif
I have done about 8 or so journey's of about 10-12kms since the fault has shown up and have found if I run the old girl for about 10mins before setting off then I dont get the fault showing up but if I just start and head off it can appear anywhere from the first 5 seconds of the journey to about 2kms into it.
I have also noticed that while she is ticking over if I raise and lower the suspension that she lifts at the back very quick but the front is very slow to come up sometimes. I dont have an IID to read the faults and I wont be able to get to a garage to get it read until the end of next week sometime due to work, so was just wondering if the genius owners on this site can point me in the right direction.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.A Man Can Never Have Too Many Land Rovers

most times its a small crack on the air dryer end cap between the two pipes but depends on the type of compressor you have.
I'm on my phone at the moment but if you search on fault C1A20-64 all will be revealed

the other common one is "slow or unable to vent" - can't remember the exact wording or code but could indicate that your dessicant is shot. Kits available on ebay, I bought the one with the replacement end cap to eliminate both faults! Not such a Disco Newbie now!

mine had same fault - replaced the leaking air tank yesterday Pete

Unfortunately for the OP, he's suffering a symptom that can be caused by a whole multitude of suspension problems.
Best advice, get the codes read and go from there. You'll no doubt end up checking for leaks too, but if none are found, start looking at valves and wiring as well as these are common for that particular fault.
My own car had exactly the same warning message, took me 8 months to sort it but was fine to drive during that time. Codes were telling me front left suspension valve ( which I changed but didn't help ) turned out it was a wiring fault in nearside front wheel well. Mods:

I'm not scared, I'm outta here.
I’ll just add a little - mine had absolutely no codes at all and fault came up within a mile of every journey in the end. Only actually found it after trying to track the problem for weeks then one day laying under suddenly could hear itPete

daviesmichael has an 08 D3 so it might be an AMK compressor in which case the dryer is different and so far as I know does not suffer from the crack problem associated with the Hitachi unit. It does however suffer goosed desiccant and filters. In any case, as has been said already codes read first before throwing parts at it.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
