Suspension Problems Help!

Hi All,
Have been reading this forum for days and can't find an answer so am reaching out for some help. Here goes.
So I knew my car had some minor leaks from the rear airsprings and about 2 weeks ago it refused to come up at all. I ordered 4 new air struts and a pump for good measure intending to spend the weekend changing all. the nuts on the 1st strut were rusted solid so I gave up and put it in my local garage for them to change. Picked it up the next day and has a suspension fault on the way home. Long story short the new OSF strut was leaking a lot of air from the bottom of the strut. Got another and swapped it myself as now has new nuts on and was easy.
So all seemed well apart from the following issues. the car was 50mm too high at the back. I eventually resolved this with SDD and calibrated successfully. The car loses about 30mm height all round overnight. I pulled the suspension fuse last night and got the same result.
Also the compressor is running a lot more than it should. it runs about every 2 minutes for about 30 seconds.
I have checked for leaks and can't see anything. I worked out how to enter suspension diag mode on the SDD and can actuate all the valves. Front left right crosslink, exhaust, reservoir.etc. With the engine off I can't see anything losing pressure on the SDD.
The persistent fault code that seems to come back after clearing everything is U0132-87 IPC lost communication with ride control module.
I'm wondering if its a dodgy pump. I still have the old one which actually ran up OK on the bench. I changed the dryer on it, cleaned it all up and put away as a spare.
However if it was the pump, why would it lose 30mm height overnight as well?

I’d change the seals in your valves.
Start with the front

about £15 on eBay

Also try putting soapy watef on the air strut pipe connections and check No bubbles

Thanks Pete,

I'll give that a go. I can understand why that might explain the 30mm drop overnight, but would such a slow leak also cause the pump to run every 2 minutes?
cheers

Steve

You could have more than one problem.

Listen by on the passenger side for the tank leaking.

Check for leaks in compressor connections

Yes i took the cover off the compressor and sprayed everything with leak detector. couldnt see any problems. Re the height sensors, why would this cause the pump to run, the car is getting to the correct height now since I calibrated it with the SDD.

thanks for your suggestions

I have a very similar problem (no error codes) which is "cured" when I remove compressor fuse. I do not have a tool to calibrate ride height but I think front n/s sensor is out, and system constantly trying to adjust. The sensor may function but not correctly over full range.

Compressor fuse doesnt make any difference in my case. ot all drops by aout 30mm overnight. fuse in or out.
The pump is behaving as though there is a major leak but can't find anything.

Maybe it’s getting erionios data from the pressure sensor.
Monitor the live value

Maybe, thanks Pete.

Plan now is total refurb on old original compressor with new piston, rings & valve. new o rings on all valve blocks and a new air tank. I'm suspicious the aftermarket compressor is no good. I'll have a look at the live pressure with the SDD if I can work it out.
