Switch between two aux inputs? Dual AUX inputs? Possible?
Hi all,
Stumbled across a problem that I couldn't find any answers to on here, so thought I'd ask...
I'm currently installing a Lenovo tablet into my Disco 4 as a sat nav etc and want to wire the audio from the headphone out on the tablet to the Aux plug in the back of the cubby box - Simple enough so far.
I've also got an iphone X on a Brodit mount which I used to wire directly into the Aux in the same manner as above.
However, I now have the conundrum of TWO devices with aux outputs, but only ONE aux input on the car...Ideally, I'd like to keep them both wired as the sound quality is often better than bluetooth.
Any ideas on how to tackle this? What happens if I buy an aux splitter and plug both iphone + tablet into Aux input...?
I don't EVER use the CD function of the car - Is it possible to rewire the CD function to an AUX input, or something similar?
Failing that, is there a device somewhere that would enable me to switch easily between AUX inputs, rather than having to manually unplug/plug-in the aux cable each time?
Ideas would be appreciated!
Cheers all!

Cheers Narpy!
Have ordered something similar from EBay!
Turns up on Friday so should be relatively simple to disassemble and put somewhere. Cheers for the suggestion!

Rob, all I did was extend all the wires to get the rotary switch away from the body and it worked perfectly.
The hardest part was hiding everything under the centre console but you'll suss things out.

I was going to ask, what’s the square of tape in your middle picture?
Quite happy with extending wires etc, shouldn’t be too difficult!

That'll be the circuit board.
I seem to recall there was 3 basic components, the switch, a circuit board and a panel for the input/outputs.
I lengthened the wires between all, insulated with tape and had a working model that was easy to hide once it didn't have it's supplied box around it all. Mods:

Job done
Pictures below!
1)
2) Found a panel on the front of the cubby box which popped off, drilled to the right size and popped the switch on.
3) I had to extend the wires a little bit. Easy job.
4) Wires/circuit board all in place so that cup holders fit ok.
5) Job Done
