Tailgate stay cable - will this do ? |
|
The nearside stay cable on my D4's bottom tailgate has come away and needs replacing.
This has been suggested (in an earlier forum post) as a suitable replacement

... but it seems to be for a Defender ?!
Will it work for my D4 (is it the right length?) or do I need to buy the whole thing including the pulley cassette (much more expensive) ?

One of mine had a kink rather than failing completely but decided to replace both. Got a second hand pair in ebay for not a huge amount. Easy to fit too. 2006 TdV6 HSE.

The Defender one is nothing like the Discovery, which I believe is only available complete with the reel.

As L319 says ^^^ LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.
