What to take on tour? (but actually keep on tour)
Going away for a few weeks at various stages this year, including a trip to Europe with the tin tent. Have done a quick search without fruit for list of spares, bits and bobs and tools other than the really obvious ones.
Not thinking about legal requirements (UK or EU) or credit cards (DSL ) but more the things that will get me out of a hole.
So far I have packed for the disco:
basic tool set
Bulbs
Fuses
Brake Switch
I've probably got more on board but what else should I add to my arsenal to save me some grief/time/£ while away from home. What have you not had and regretted while away from base? Maybe just mobile tool kit essentials?

Would it be worth taking a new fuel filter just in case you get some dodgy fuel

Trying to think what i usually carry. Socket set & torque wrench (latter in case of puncture).

Breaker bar and proper jack. Don’t rely on freeing wheel nuts with the crappy wrench supplied with your car. You can get a sliding extendible one which fits in the cubby hole where the jack is.
Bottle jack as per many posts on here.There are two rules for success,
1. Never tell everything you know.
spare wipers … they fit easily above rear wheel-arch on nearside.
emergency diesel can will also fit in there if you don't have the holder for the removable towbar.

I went for the Caravan Club Mayday cover. Seemed comprehensive and don’t think they would short change me if claiming as the like to protect the brand. Famous last words 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I will also be taking a trim removal tool. All too often, without the tool you can spend more time getting the pesky trim clips off before being able to diagnose the problem or use the tools to fix it.
Fault code reader also a must have for me.
And finally internet access from mobile phone - so I can request help from this forum 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I was with AA/Eurotunnel for last summer, didn't appreciate how quickly bills can rack up and only £2k limit per trip, plus only 3 claims per policy year. £2k sounds a lot but where I go it deffo isn't!! I took out the top RAC cover, with lots of "unlimited" in claims limits, for the D4s trip up to NW Norway to recover my gear and strip the D3. The £50 - £60 difference in annual premium is nothing compared with the bills that can be racked up.
Cautionary note : the Screwfix one looks good but is awful. Sent it back and returned to using strips cut from a plastic promotional beermat I've had for 20 years !
lots on offer (trim tools that is, not beermats) on Fleabay for next to nothing.

zip ties - for everything especially bits hanging off
gaffa tape - as above and split turbo pipes
axle stands - dont want to be changing spare on jack on shoulder
torches
wire & fuses - good for a quick temp reroute
spare water - maybe
usb power supply
jump leads
warm clothes - coats, blanket, gloves, hi-vis
first aid kit, fire ext
etc etc etc - where do you stop I could go on
I've just got back form the highlands and had 3 flatdog boxes full of bits and pieces as not alot of phone signal and no people around alot of the places we went. (3 different sim cards)
