Taking bits off my D3 for next D3

Trading in my 4 year old D3 'S' for a one year old D3 'SE', and want to take some of the bits off and move them across if i can (Had been looking at getting a D4, but decided to wait for 18 months and pick up a demonstrator).

Side Steps. What do I need to do to get these off, and will it 'show' that they've been removed - i.e. was something cut to get them fitted in the first place. Alternatively what is the price of getting replacements and fitting them

Expadition Roof Rack. Again, what do I need to get this off, and does the other D3 have to have something in place for me to fit this to (yes I appreciate it is heavy, but mine is lighter as removed side/front rails).

Thanks for any practical help/advice.

Best advice - If you are buying a car from a dealer - ask them to swap the bits over Thumbs Up

I took a morning off work before swapping mine, Mantec, tow bar electrics, ticket clip etc. Swapped the Xenons in the car park at the dealership Mr. Green

If you go on wiki you can find the instructions for the roofrack. If you do it yourself it's only a handful of nuts and two people to lift off over the back of the car. Don't leave anything behind.

TBH after being on for 4 years that's probably your best approach as I bet some of the bolts are bound to be a bit stubborn to remove, make it the dealers problem, tell them deals off unless that do Wink Very Happy

The plastic sill covers have to be cut for the side steps so it's simplest to swap the covers too

Expo rack needs roof rails to fit so again swap them over (if the new one hasn't got any)
