Glad thats sorted, but it would have been nice to have chains anyway! Thought i'd seen a post about belts. Least i know i'm not quite mad yet Too many older Land Rovers to mention

The following quote from the generic TDV6 engine description from the link a few posts above.
"The belt driven timing system
employs the latest in material technology
enabling the engine team to provide a
‘designed for life’ capability."
Designed for life sounds like a BMW desciption, problem is they don't define "life".
