Tdv6 disco 4 hse high millage! Should I be worried??
Heya guys and girls! I'm.new to this forum and taken me a while to find one so I hope this is as good as it looks. Basically i have just brought a 2010 disco 4 hse. It has 280k miles on it however it's only had 1 owner and been had all services and work done it it when it should have. Should I be worried about this high millage on a car like this? Thanks in advance!

Even if it's had all the work done as and when it should have? A friend of a friend who works for land rover has said that this motorway miles on this car is like 100k miles on any other.... have i been been told wrong then? It was cheap because of the miles only 5.5k and it's absolutely mint aswell. So I didn't think it was a bad bargain tbf.....

Cheers guys. Can any of you recommend anything for me to get done as soon as i pick it up? Certain services... an autobox flush or anything? Or would you not bother?

Check the history 1st to see what has been done / or not done on the services. If its a one owner car then you might be in luck
enjoy

Look on the positive side, it’s done almost 120k more than mine did before it’s engine died, and that was serviced to within an inch of its life. The owners got to be doing something right.

You’ll get instant “celebrity status”, but you still won’t have the highest mileage by some margin
Highways England used to run theirs to 250-320,000 miles in 3 years and reckoned there was a lot of useful life left in them when they were handed back after 3 years. It must be painful having to part with the last ones So, set your sights on 500,000 miles and enjoy your new motor
It’s looking nicely original too, with only sensible mods, such as side steps, side rubbing strips and a proper tread plate on the rear bumper (even if he has clonked it). As those side steps are probably 8 years and 280,000 miles, their structure might be heavily corroded. It’s worth checking and they’re easy enough to change
May I take it that you’ll get a full year’s MoT with the purchase?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: FL2 as a second car

Investing in an IID tool probably worth it.
You can do a few upgrades through that if you want.

I agree, for that amount of money just drive it like you stole it. If it breaks get a new one and have this for spares or strip it and flog it.
