I use G, G & S when the weather is below 3c.

Even on that setting and with new Scorpions, I went sideways on Friday night on a slow corner - we'd had heavy rain and then the temp dropped to zero. Nice! We only get gritted on week day mornings on my road.

I had the same problem on Saturday night in my Audi Quattro (not quite as acute) which made me think about winter tyres for the Audi but then I remembered how well it copes with rain and snow on regular tyres and the fact that no car or tyre combi is any good on ice.
